Zilliqa Freezes Native Transactions Amid Ledger Security Flaw
A critical security flaw in Ledger's hardware wallet application has forced Zilliqa to temporarily halt native transactions on its non-EVM network.
The issue lies in the random number generation routine used by the app, which allowed external observers to deduce users' private keys after collecting just five public signatures.
Zilliqa suspended transfers on July 21, 2026, citing a need to prevent unauthorized draining of funds stored in cold wallets.
According to Zilliqa's developers, all versions of their official software built for Ledger devices between 2019 and 2026 were affected by the flaw.
The price of ZIL plummeted to $0.0024 on July 22, 2026, recording a 17% weekly decline.
