Zilliqa Hard Fork Complete, but Exchange Withdrawals Remain Frozen
The Zilliqa hard fork that took place on September 2, 2026 was not just a protocol change, but also a necessary step to move exchange balances from their old legacy addresses to their new Zilliqa EVM addresses.
This process, known as reassignment, required no action from users and was completed by the time of the fork. However, exchanges had to bring their internal allocation across, test it, and reconcile it against account balances before allowing withdrawals again.
This is exactly why Zilliqa's own text carried no date for reopening deposits and withdrawals, leaving it up to each exchange to decide when they would be available again.
