Zilliqa Hard Fork Leaves Exchanges Frozen Despite Balance Reassignment

The Zilliqa hard fork on September 2, 2026 moved balances from legacy addresses to Zilliqa EVM addresses, but exchanges are still frozen.

This is because a protocol-level reassignment was completed, but exchanges must test and verify their internal allocation before opening withdrawals again.

The exchange's balance has been updated, but the process of updating wallet systems, address management, and bookkeeping can take time and varies from one exchange to another.

If you hold your ZIL in a self-custody wallet, nothing changed on September 2, and you don't need to worry about this process.
