ZKsync Tokens Unlock: 173 Million ZK Hit Circulation in September
A new batch of ZKsync tokens is set to enter circulation on September 19, 2026. According to CryptoRank's tracking data, this release will bring in 173.41 million ZK tokens, which represents a small portion of the project's total supply.
This particular unlock event is split between two groups: investors and team members. The former will receive an additional 2.50% of their allocation, equal to roughly 103.87M tokens, while the latter will get an additional 2.44% of their allocation, equal to approximately 69.54M tokens.
ZKsync uses a 'capped minter' system, where dedicated smart contracts are assigned a maximum number of tokens they can release over time. This structure ensures that the circulating supply grows in scheduled steps rather than all at once.
This token unlock is part of the project's broader vesting schedule, which aims to reduce the shock of any single event on ZKsync's circulating supply. As of now, roughly a third of the tokens tied to these vesting-based allocations have been released, with the remainder still locked and scheduled to unlock gradually over the coming years.
