Zondacrypto Probe Widens as Fifth Suspect Charged
Polish prosecutors have expanded their investigation into Zondacrypto after charging Roman Ż., a former associate of BitBay founder Sylwester Suszek, with fraud and another unspecified offense.
This makes him the fifth person accused in the widening case. Authorities detained him over the weekend due to concerns that he might leave Poland, and prosecutors plan to seek his pretrial detention as the investigation gathers momentum.
The case gained attention after Zondacrypto customers reported withdrawal problems in April, with more than 3,600 complaints reaching prosecutors by June and estimated losses of over $94 million.
