Zondacrypto Probe Widens with New Charges Against Polish Suspect
Polish prosecutors have expanded their investigation into cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto by charging another suspect, Romana Ż., with participating in an organized criminal group and misappropriating user funds.
The alleged misconduct includes unauthorized changes to computer records and interference with the way Zondacrypto processed and transmitted exchange data. Prosecutors claim that Romana Ż. was involved in taking part of 7.8 million zlotys, approximately $2.1 million, from users.
The latest charges follow earlier detentions and charges against three other individuals connected to Zondacrypto, with prosecutors alleging a systemic issue rather than isolated misconduct.
Prosecutors have requested that Romana Ż. be held in pretrial detention, citing concerns about flight risk and potential interference with the investigation.
