Zondacrypto's Bitcoin Reserves Vanish as Second CEO Disappears
Zondacrypto's second CEO has vanished after its Bitcoin reserves evaporated. The exchange was sliding into a criminal probe over blocked withdrawals and missing reserves when Przemyslaw Kral, the chief executive of Zondacrypto, left Poland in April 2026.
Kral inherited the business after the 2021 sale and rebrand from BitBay's founder, Sylwester Suszek. Suszek vanished in March 2022 after a business meeting in Czeladz and has never been found.
The average Bitcoin balance in Zondacrypto's main hot-wallet cluster fell from 55.7 BTC in August 2024 to 0.18 BTC in March 2026, then down to 0.086 BTC by April 1. Kral pointed to a cold wallet holding about 4,500 BTC, worth roughly $330 million at the time.
However, this reserve is locked behind a private key the company says it doesn't have. Suszek had never handed over the private key before he disappeared. This 'comfort' is not much comfort for customers trying to withdraw Bitcoin.
