Zora Co-Founder Dee Goens Replaces Jacob Horne as CEO
Zora Co-Founder Dee Goens has taken over as CEO of Zora, replacing Jacob Horne after more than six years. Goens' new role comes as the company has significantly downsized to fewer than 10 people and shifted its focus from Creator Coins to trading pairs on other networks.
The move follows a decline in fees for Zora's Base deployment, which totaled $14,768 in August, down 99.4% compared to $2.51 million in August 2025. Despite this, Goens expressed optimism about the company's future, citing its efforts to rebuild community trust and onboarding new users.
Zora has implemented a number of changes in recent months, including Custom Pairs, which allows users to choose what asset a new token is paired against, and attention markets on Solana. Goens also listed five priorities for the company, including aligning its business with $ZORA token holders through buybacks and rewards.
