$1.3 Billion Loss: Dollar Dives Against Major Currencies Amid Gulf Ceasefire Hopes

The US dollar gained strength against the Vietnamese dong on Friday morning, despite being set for its largest weekly loss against major currencies in months.

Vietcombank sold the greenback at VND26,360, a 0.01% increase from Thursday's rate. On the black market, the currency rose 0.08% to around VND26,876.

The State Bank of Vietnam raised its reference rate by 0.01% to VND25,105. Globally, the dollar is expected to drop due to optimism over a ceasefire in the Gulf and resumed oil shipping, according to Reuters.
