$143b: NZ Businesses' Growing Debt Burden
New Zealand businesses have increased their borrowings by more than $6 billion in the last year to reach a total of $143b.
This significant rise could be seen as a sign of growing confidence in the economy, but it also raises concerns about the increasing debt levels of SMEs.
In contrast, a rising number of businesses have gone into liquidation, with many owing thousands of dollars to Inland Revenue.
