The Bank of Canada has unveiled its new $20 banknote, featuring King Charles III's portrait and the Vimy Ridge memorial monument on the back. The note will gradually enter circulation in late February 2027, as per BoC Governor Macklem's statement.

According to Governor Macklem, the new $20 banknote is 'striking, symbolic and secure'. He highlighted its advanced security features combined with images that reflect Canada's beauty and history. This, he hopes, will evoke pride in Canada and confidence in its bank notes.
