ABN AMRO Raises 2026 Profit Forecast to €6.8 Billion on Record Q2 Earnings
ABN AMRO, one of Europe's leading lenders, reported a record-breaking second quarter earnings performance. The bank's commercial net interest income (NII) forecast for 2026 was raised to €6.8 billion ($7.8 billion), surpassing its previous projection of €6.4 billion.
The improved NII guidance is largely attributed to the recent acquisition of NIBC Bank, which will contribute to the upgraded profit outlook. The bank also reduced its full-year cost forecast to €5.5 billion, reflecting aggressive efficiency measures and workforce reductions.
'ABN AMRO delivered another strong quarter, supported by continued client demand and high fees,' said Chief Executive Officer Marguerite Bérard in a statement. She noted that the Dutch economy remains resilient, but cautioned that uncertainty persists due to the ongoing energy shock and inflation concerns.
