AFC Breaks Record with CHF350m Digital Bond on SIX Exchange
Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) has successfully tapped into the Swiss market by issuing a record-breaking digital bond worth CHF350 million. The five-year instrument is notable for being listed, traded, and settled on a regulated digital exchange.
This transaction marks AFC's first entry into the Swiss capital market as an African institution. It also represents the largest digital bond ever issued in the Swiss franc market, underscoring the growing adoption of digital infrastructure in international debt markets.
The bond carries a 1.4925 per cent coupon and is part of AFC's $500m benchmark issuance completed in June 2026 under its $5bn Global Medium-Term Note Programme. Unlike conventional bonds, this instrument is structured as a tokenised security using Distributed Ledger Technology.
