AFC Breaks Records with CHF350m Digital Bond Issuance in Switzerland
Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) has made history in the Swiss capital market by issuing a record-breaking CHF350 million digital bond. This is the largest digital bond ever issued in the Swiss franc market, and it marks AFC's first foray into the world of tokenised securities.
The bond, which carries a 1.4925 per cent coupon, forms part of AFC's $500m benchmark issuance completed in June 2026. It was listed and admitted for trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange and deposited with the SIX Digital Exchange, with clearing and settlement handled by SIX SIS AG.
The funds raised will be used to support infrastructure projects across Africa, strengthening the continent's economic transformation. The transaction was conducted under AFC's $5bn Global Medium-Term Note Programme.
