African Startups Prepare to Pitch at BlueInvest Africa 2026
The European Union-backed BlueInvest Africa 2026 has opened registration for its fourth edition, which will take place on November 2-3 in Cape Town. The event aims to connect African entrepreneurs with international investors through startup pitches and networking opportunities.
Twenty-five blue economy projects have been selected from hundreds of applications submitted by businesses from 38 African countries. These startups will present their ideas to investors, focusing on sectors such as sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, marine and renewable technologies, and coastal tourism.
The European Commission launched BlueInvest Africa in 2022 to support the development of Africa's blue economy. Since its inception, the initiative has supported over 80 startups from more than 700 applications, connecting entrepreneurs with over 40 investors focused on ocean-related impact in Africa.
