Air Canada Expands Transatlantic Network with New Routes and Daily London Service
Air Canada is expanding its transatlantic network by adding new routes from Toronto to Oslo, Shannon, and Nice in summer 2027. The airline will use its incoming Airbus A321XLR fleet for these flights, which will also include a daily daytime service to London Heathrow.
The airline plans to operate four weekly flights between Toronto and Oslo starting June 2, with the A321XLR configured to offer Economy and Air Canada Signature cabins. This will give Air Canada its third Scandinavian destination, after Copenhagen and Stockholm, and make it the only carrier offering nonstop flights between North America and Norway.
Shannon will become Air Canada's second destination in Ireland after Dublin, with three weekly services starting June 10. The airline says this will provide the only nonstop link between the Irish airport and Canada.
The A321XLR will also be used for a new daily daytime flight to London Heathrow, which will leave Toronto at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at Heathrow at 9 p.m. starting May 1, 2027. This is in addition to the airline's existing five daily flights between the two airports.
Not all of Air Canada's new European flying from Toronto will use the A321XLR, however. The airline will launch two weekly flights to Nice on June 16 using an Airbus A330-300, complementing its existing Montreal-Nice service and giving Toronto its first nonstop connection to the French Riviera.
