Airbus Reluctantly Adopts Dollar Pricing Amid Global Uncertainty
Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus, expressed reluctance at the company's continued reliance on the US dollar for pricing its aircraft. The decision leaves Airbus vulnerable to currency fluctuations and geopolitical tensions.
Faury made his comments during an interview on the sidelines of the Farnborough International Airshow, where he acknowledged that the dollar is not the preferred currency for Airbus. However, he noted that it has been a dominant force in the industry for a long time and is used by many companies.
'From a pure Airbus perspective, obviously [the] dollar is not the currency we like to have,' Faury said, 'but it's a currency that is really dominating a number of industries and that has been the currency of aviation since a long time.'
