Airfare Prices Set to Rise Again, Warns Bank of England Official

The Bank of England has issued a warning to holidaymakers that airfare prices are likely to rise again despite remaining stable since the US-Iran war broke out. Deputy Governor Dave Ramsden stated on Tuesday that airlines could be shielding consumers from higher costs by hedging against oil price surges and absorbing extra expenses.

However, Ramsden cautioned that this relatively stable picture 'can't go on,' implying that airfare prices will eventually increase. The warning comes as holidaymakers were previously spared a surge in costs over the summer.
