Albanian Lek Exchange Rate Sees Volatility Amid ECB Interest Rate Hike

The exchange rate for several major currencies against the Albanian Lek has seen significant fluctuations in recent days. According to data from September 11, 2026, one US dollar is bought for 78.7 lek and sold for 80 lek.

The euro's value has also declined, with a purchase price of 91.6 lek and a sale price of 92.3 lek. Meanwhile, the British pound is bought at 106.3 lek and sold at 107.3 lek.

These changes come amidst other economic indicators, such as the European Central Bank's (ECB) decision to raise interest rates by 0.5% to 2.5%, marking the second increase this year. This move aims to combat inflation and stabilize the economy.
