Albania's Forex Market Hits Record €4.5 Billion Trade
The Albanian foreign exchange market has reached new heights, with an unprecedented €4.5 billion traded in the second quarter alone.
This represents a staggering 30% increase from the same period last year, and exceeds even the third quarter's typically high trading volumes.
Despite the surge in foreign currency supply, the Albanian lek (ALL) continues to strengthen against the euro (EUR), with the exchange rate reaching record lows.
The average EUR/ALL exchange rate fell to 94.8 in June, and has since continued its downward trend, dropping below 93 leks per euro for the first time ever.
