Alphabet Secures A$5.5 Billion in Inaugural Australian Dollar Bond Issuance
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has successfully raised A$5.5 billion ($3.89 billion) in its inaugural Australian dollar bond issuance.
The tech giant issued bonds with varying tenures, including 3-, 5-, 10- and 20-year tranches, with a coupon rate of 6.9% for the longest tenure bond tranche.
This move is part of a broader trend among global tech companies to tap into capital markets to fund their massive AI spending, which is expected to exceed $730 billion this year.
