The demand for artificial intelligence is driving hyperscalers to seek new funding sources. Australia has become a popular destination, with Alphabet's recent AU$5.5 billion bond offering fueling a rally in the AUD/USD pair.

According to Bloomberg estimates, the combined capital expenditures of the largest hyperscalers could reach $6 trillion by 2030. Alphabet's capital spending is estimated at $206 billion in 2026.

The Australian labor market is cooling, with unemployment rising to a five-year high of 4.5% and the economy unexpectedly shedding 15,800 jobs in July. This reduces the likelihood that the RBA will resume its monetary tightening cycle in September.
