Amazon Raises £4.25 Billion Through Sterling Bond Sale Amid AI Spending
Amazon is set to raise £4.25 billion through its first sterling bond sale, as the company continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and data centres.
The move comes as major technology companies are increasingly turning to international bond markets to finance their AI expansion, with more than $200 billion of debt issued by hyperscalers in 2026, according to Reuters.
The sterling deal gives Amazon access to investors in the UK and other markets that use the British pound, providing the company with another way to raise money and increasing its flexibility when planning its financing.
