Amazon Raises £4.25B in Sterling Bond Sale Amid Hyperscaler Funding Frenzy
Amazon has raised £4.25 billion from its first-ever sterling bond sale on Wednesday, slightly more than initially expected, according to a bank managing the deal.
The hyperscaler's funding needs have been increasing due to the AI boom, with many rushing to diversify their funding sources.
Around $200 billion of debt has already been issued by hyperscalers this year, more than doubling from 2025, according to LSEG data.
The four-part deal saw final demand of over £10.65 billion, slightly lower than the £12 billion seen before lead banks tightened pricing.
