American Voices Speak Out Against Tariffs in US-Canada Trade War
Americans are speaking out against the ongoing trade war between the United States and Canada, citing concerns that tariffs imposed on Canadian goods harm not only the Canadian economy but also American consumers, businesses, and the economy as a whole.
Fokwan Florence from New Jersey expressed frustration with the use of tariffs, saying that freer trade among allies is the best option. He questioned the usefulness of imposing tariffs on Canada after many years of close relations between the two countries, stating that such measures ultimately harm Americans themselves.
The survey participants highlighted the interconnected nature of the two economies, noting that the United States represents the main market for Canadian exports, while many American sectors depend on energy, raw materials, products, and components coming from Canada.
