Anutin's Aussie-Kiwi Trade Push Targets $1bn Two-Way Trade Goal
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is set to visit Australia and New Zealand from August 17 to 22, aiming to deepen bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Thailand and its strategic partners.
The government has approved a draft Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership between Thailand and New Zealand, which will expand cooperation across four pillars: politics and security; economy, trade, and innovation; culture and people-to-people links; and regional and multilateral cooperation.
In the economic sphere, Thailand and New Zealand aim to triple two-way trade by 2045 through closer cooperation in agriculture, digital innovation, renewable energy, and supply-chain connectivity. They also plan to build on the Thailand-New Zealand Closer Economic Partnership (TNZCEP) to reduce trade barriers and support small and medium-sized enterprises.
