Asia Markets Rally Amid Central Bank Uncertainty
Markets in Asia staged a relief rally on Thursday as investors awaited fresh signals from central bankers and new U.S. data. Shares and bonds rebounded across the region, while Japan's yen surged to its strongest level since August 10.
The pan-region Euro Stoxx 50 futures edged up 0.06%, German DAX futures climbed 0.09%, and FTSE futures inched 0.04% higher in early European trading. U.S. stock futures added 0.06%.
Gavin Friend, a senior markets strategist at NAB, said that resolving the conflict between the U.S. and Iran would be 'very positive' for yields. The key nonfarm payrolls report is due on Friday, following disappointing private labour data for August.
