Asian stocks experienced a decline on Monday following hawkish comments from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, which strengthened bets on an interest-rate hike next month.

The MSCI's Asia Pacific equities gauge fell by 0.8%, with technology shares leading the declines, including the Kospi Index, which dropped over 3%.

The US dollar held its gains after Warsh's comments, and oil prices climbed as Middle East tensions intensified, with Brent crude rising by 1.6% to $89.50 a barrel.

Futures on the S&P 500 Index lost 0.5%, and those on the Nasdaq 100 Index retreated 0.7%, after the underlying gauges closed lower on Friday and as tensions rose in the Middle East.
