Asian Stocks Rise on Oil Price Drop, Nvidia Earnings Loom
Asian stock markets rose on August 26, 2026, as oil prices continued to decline. The MSCI Asia Pacific equities gauge increased by 0.9%, with Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. making significant contributions. These chip stocks had previously advanced on Wall Street, and Nvidia Corp.'s upcoming earnings report is expected to provide further insight into the artificial intelligence trade.
Nvidia's revenue nearly doubled from a year earlier to $92 billion in its last quarter, more than any of its rivals generate in a full year, according to analysts. Mark Malek at Siebert Financial stated that Nvidia 'is operating on all cylinders and they're doing absolutely everything correctly at this point.'
The drop in oil prices eased inflation concerns, which helped bonds rally. The benchmark 10-year yield fell seven basis points on Tuesday, and government bonds in Japan and New Zealand advanced. However, the US equity-index futures edged lower by 0.1%, indicating some caution in the market.
