AUD Falls Despite Strong Australian Consumer Confidence Jump
The Australian Consumer Confidence Index rose to 88.9 in August, up from 83.9 in July, marking a 6.0% increase, the strongest single-month gain since November 2025.
This improvement follows a sharp decline in April 2026 when the index fell to 80.1.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has held its benchmark cash rate at 4.35%, a decade-high, while the Federal Reserve is expected to maintain a more restrictive policy stance.
