AUD Falls Despite Strong Consumer Confidence Data

The Australian consumer confidence index rose by 6% in August to 88.9, its strongest single-month increase since November 2025.

This improvement was largely driven by mortgage holders' diminished concern about further interest rate increases by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA).

However, despite this positive macroeconomic release, the AUD/USD pair declined by 0.26% to $0.7084 at market close.
