The Australian Dollar (AUD) fell sharply against the Japanese Yen (JPY) on Tuesday, trading 0.15% lower at around 112.20 during the Asian trading session.

This decline comes as the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) left the Official Cash Rate (OCR) unchanged at 4.35% for the second meeting in a row, aligning with market expectations.

TD Securities notes that the RBA is now in 'pause and observe mode' due to policy being viewed as restrictive, with domestic activity slowing and inflation coming in lower than projected in Q2 this year.
