AUD Gains Against USD After Waller's Dovish Comments
The Australian Dollar rose against the US Dollar on Thursday after comments from Federal Reserve Governor Waller turned moderately dovish ahead of the September meeting.
Despite a rise in oil prices due to resumption of hostilities in the Middle East, the AUD/USD traded at 0.7200, up 0.44%.
The Greenback's sell-off continued, with the USD/JPY tumbling and dragging the US Dollar Index (DXY) down by 0.58% to 99.00.
Fed Governor Waller indicated support for keeping rates steady, contingent on a disinflation trend, but cautioned that a strong US CPI report next week could lead to a rate hike.
