AUD/LKR Falls as US Dollar Weakens on Bond Buyback Program
The Australian Dollar (AUD) has seen a modest decline against the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR), trading at LKR234.64 after a softening of the US Dollar following the US Treasury's bond buyback program.
The move increased market liquidity, easing upward pressure on the US Dollar and boosting demand for the AUD in cross-currency trading.
Technical analysis suggests that the AUD/LKR is positioned below its short- and medium-term moving averages, with momentum indicators pointing to ongoing bearish pressure.
The pair's long-term average offers support at LKR226.43, while immediate resistance is defined by the Ichimoku Kijun at LKR234.92.
