AUD Retreats from Three-Week Highs Amid Ongoing Market Uncertainty
The Australian Dollar (AUD) pulled back from three-week highs on Thursday, retreating to the 0.7040 area as the impact of the latest Trade Balance figures began to fade.
Despite this, investors remain cautious ahead of Friday's key US Nonfarm payrolls report and ongoing uncertainty surrounding US-Iran negotiations.
The data released on Thursday was more positive than expected, with Australia posting an unexpected surplus in June's Trade Balance. The AUD 1.929 million surplus marked a significant improvement from the downwardly revised deficit of AUD 2.367 million in May.
