AUD/USD Hits 0.7200 Barrier Amid RBA's Tightening Bias

The Australian Dollar has been on a multi-week recovery path, approaching the key barrier of 0.7200 against the US Dollar.

This momentum is partly due to the Reserve Bank of Australia's cautious stance on interest rates and domestic inflation, which remains sticky but manageable.

Australia's economy looks healthy, with solid domestic demand, decent economic growth figures, and a trade balance surplus in June.

The RBA expects inflation to remain above 3% until mid-2027, before falling towards 2.5% by early 2028, leading the bank to maintain its tightening bias and keep rates unchanged for now.
