AUD/USD Rises on Strong Economic Data, But Technical Analysis Suggests Reversal

The AUD/USD currency pair has been rising after data showed Australia's economy remained resilient despite lingering headwinds. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported that the country's economy expanded by 2.1% in the second quarter, beating estimates but coming in weaker than expected.

This growth led many investors to predict that the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will hike interest rates later this year, potentially making it one of the most hawkish central banks. The AUD/USD pair rose after ADP published a weak jobs report, showing the economy created 38k jobs in August, missing estimates.

However, technical analysis suggests that the rally may be about to reverse. A rising wedge pattern has formed on the daily chart, and other indicators such as the Percentage Price Oscillator (PPO) and Stochastic Oscillator have made bearish crossovers and divergences.
