Aussie Dollar Breaks Free from Franc's Grip as Rate Differentials Ignite

The Australian dollar has been on a roll lately, breaking free from its prolonged decline against the Swiss franc. This technical rebound is partly attributed to the contrasting interest rate policies of the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Swiss National Bank.

Australia's decision to increase rates has made the Aussie more attractive compared to the franc, which has kept its rates near zero. As a result, the Aussie has closed above a descending trendline, setting its sights on the 200-week moving average.

This upward momentum could propel the Aussie towards 0.59 or higher, potentially targeting previous highs of 0.6081-0.6099 in May and July 2024. However, failure to sustain this breakout could see a return to bearish trends, with support levels at 0.5540 and 0.5.
