Australia Beats Estimates with 0.4% Q2 GDP Growth
Australia's economy showed strong growth in Q2 of 2026, beating market expectations. The country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 0.4% quarter-over-quarter, compared to a predicted 0.3%. This comes after a 0.3% expansion in the first quarter.
The annual GDP growth rate for Q2 was 2.1%, higher than the 2.5% seen in Q1 and above market consensus of 1.8%. The Australian Dollar (AUD) responded positively to the news, gaining 0.09% against the US dollar.
