Australia Boosts Distilled Spirits Excise to A$110.15 per Liter
Australia has raised its federal excise on distilled spirits to A$110.15 per liter of pure alcohol, effective August 3.
This increase is A$2.16, or 2.0%, and reflects the country's system of adjusting alcohol excise twice a year in line with inflation.
The Spirits Council of Australia argues that this rate is far higher than those in comparable markets, such as the United States and New Zealand.
