Australian Auction Sets New Record with $420k Angus Bull Sale
A record-breaking Angus bull was sold at an auction in Australia for a staggering price. Wyatt W50, a 19-month-old bull from the prestigious Millah Murrah breeding farm in New South Wales, fetched $420 thousand Australian dollars or nearly $300 thousand US dollars.
The high price was not just due to the bull's impressive weight of 834 kilograms but also its exceptional breeding characteristics. As one of the most sought-after breeds for meat production and rapid weight gain, Angus cattle are highly prized by livestock farms.
The sale sets a new record in Australia, although it falls short of the world record set in the US in 2019 when an Angus bull named SAV America 8018 was sold for $1.51 million.
