Australian Bond Yield Surges Above 5% Amid Strong Economic Sentiment
Australia's 10-year government bond yield has surged past 5%, reaching its highest level in three weeks, driven by increasing US Treasury yields and improved domestic economic sentiment.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) held interest rates steady at 4.35% earlier this year, following three hikes, but consumer sentiment continues to show resilience with a nine-month high recorded in August.
The upcoming jobs report on Thursday is expected to show employment rising by 15,000 in July, after a strong 76,300 increase in June, while unemployment remains steady at 4.4%.
