Australian Commodity Prices Rise 1.2% in August: RBA Index
The Reserve Bank of Australia's Index of Commodity Prices saw a monthly increase in August 2026, rising by 1.2% on average in Special Drawing Rights (SDR) terms.
This growth follows a decrease of 0.5% in July. The non-rural and base metals subindices showed an increase during the month, while the rural subindex decreased.
In Australian dollar terms, the index increased by just 0.1% in August.
Over the past year, the index has grown by 15.5% in SDR terms, with increases seen across most commodities, except for iron ore and alumina prices.
