Australian Unemployment Rate Hits 4.5% Amid Slowing Labour Market
Australia's unemployment rate has hit 4.5% in July 2026, according to ABS data.
This marks a 0.1 percentage point increase from June and is accompanied by a decline in employment of 15,800 people.
The participation rate also eased by 0.2 percentage points to 66.9%, indicating some softening in labour market conditions.
