Australian Unemployment Rate Holds Steady at 4.4% Amid Job Market Growth
The Australian unemployment rate has held steady at 4.4 per cent, according to new data from the ABS. This is despite an increase of 13,000 people in the number of unemployed individuals.
The data shows that a total of 76,000 jobs were created in June, with part-time employment increasing by 47,000 people. The workforce participation rate rose by 0.3 percentage points to 67 per cent.
Employment Minister Amanda Rishworth described the figures as 'strong job figures', while Treasurer Jim Chalmers noted that more than 76,000 jobs have been created in the past month and over 1.3 million jobs have been created under this government.
The next interest rate decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia will be announced on August 11th.
