Aviva Taps XRP Ledger for $30B Liquidity Fund, Crypto Networks Face Utility Test
The XRP Ledger is gaining traction in traditional finance as Ripple expands its partnerships. Aviva Investors, which manages over £30 billion in liquidity strategies, has tokenized its US dollar liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger through a partnership with Ripple.
Ripple and Aviva will work together until 2026 to explore more tokenization opportunities. The company stated that tokenization doesn't change a fund's underlying assets, net asset value (NAV), or risk profile, it simply records ownership digitally, making transactions faster and more efficient.
This move highlights growing interest in using the XRP Ledger for real-world assets and traditional finance. Yuval Rooz, CEO of Digital Asset, warns that crypto networks will eventually be judged by their utility and revenue generation. He notes that banks are already using public blockchain infrastructure, citing Canton as an example.
Rooz emphasizes that many crypto networks have valuations disconnected from actual economic activity. He argues that networks making promises without delivering useful products could lose most of their value over time.
