Bailey Reiterates Caution on Second-Round Inflation Effects
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey reiterated his stance on inflation ahead of the central bank's next interest-rate decision. Speaking at the Jackson Hole economic conference in the US, Bailey said that he believes the UK is not yet experiencing significant second-round inflation effects.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Bailey stated that 'we're seeing quite subdued second-round effects,' pointing to a softening labor market as evidence of this trend.
When asked about his views on the matter, Bailey said, 'I've taken the view that I think we can watch this situation for the moment.'
