Bank of Canada Holds Interest Rate Steady Amid Trade War Tensions
The Bank of Canada has decided to maintain its key interest rate at 2.25 per cent despite the ongoing trade war between Canada and the United States.
According to Sr. Business Analyst Mike Eppel, the central bank's decision is due to a variety of factors, including the overall strength of the Canadian economy and the fact that inflation remains under control.
Eppel notes that while the trade war may have some negative effects on the economy, they are not yet significant enough to warrant a change in interest rates.
