Bank of Canada Unveils New $20 Bill with King Charles
The Bank of Canada is set to unveil its new $20 bill featuring King Charles. This marks the first Canadian paper currency to feature an image of the King, replacing that of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The decision to feature King Charles was made as part of a redesign process directed by former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government in 2025.
King Charles has been featured on Canadian bills since 1935, and his image will now be prominently displayed on the new $20 bill. The unveiling is scheduled for today, September 3, 2026.
