The Bank of England has pushed back against criticism of its 'work from abroad' policy, which allows staff to work in approved foreign countries for up to 40 days per year.

Opponents have claimed that officials are working from exotic locations, but a spokesperson for the Bank says this is simply a normal part of doing business.

The initiative has been criticized by current and former MPs, who suggested that the policy is inefficient and poses cybersecurity risks.
